Freedom of information

Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act must be made in writing, identifying specific records requested. The municipality will respond in 30 days or less. Charges vary, according to the amount of time required to gather the information.

Solicitor-client privileges, minutes from closed council meetings and personnel information are exempt, and in some cases, the municipality can sever and release (remove certain passages) of confidential information.

Utilities

Local levels of government provide water, sewer, and garbage services. Utility billing is prepared by the Finance Department and sent out in April.
