Development Services

The Development Services Department provides assistance to guide development within the Village of Burns Lake. Our department includes services related to land use development, planning, civic addressing, sustainability planning and mapping. For access to online mapping, please use the RDBN Web Mapping Site.

If you have a development project in mind, you are encouraged to contact the Village of Burns Lake early in the process to make sure that your project and permitting requirements are met. We look forward to assisting developers with the permitting process.

If your property is located within a Development Permit Area as designated in the Village’s Official Community Plan, then you will be required to obtain a Development Permit. Generally, Development Permits are required for all commercial and multi–family residential development in the Village. Development permit applications and guides are available online in the Forms and Permits section of the website. For Building Permits, developers are requested to contact the Regional District Bulkley-Nechako (3rd Avenue – 692-3195).
