Pay for Services

Pay Online with Credit Card

The Village of Burns Lake is pleased to announce that it will now accept payment by VISA, MasterCard or debit card for select municipal bills/services.

OptionPay is our new third-party payment processor. For a nominal processing fee, you can use OptionPay to make card payment through our website using the “Online Bill Payments” link, on your smart phone by scanning the QR Code, or phone to the finance group and in our municipal office. All processing fees are charged by OptionPay and are not received by the Municipality.

Utilizing OptionPay enables our Municipality to keep our overall payment acceptance processing costs down yet provides individual residents with the ability to utilize their credit/debit card for payment of municipal bills/services.

All payments will be received by the Municipality within 48 business hours, so please be sure to allow this processing time when making your payment. Also ensure to know your daily and/or transaction processing limit when making credit card payments.

Credit card rewards are earned on the entire purchase, including fees.

Currently, for our Municipality, the following bill types can be paid through OptionPay Online:

  • Accounts Receivable (invoice)
  • Business Licenses
  • Property Taxes
  • Utilities

Pay Online with Your Bank or Credit Union

Residents may now pay online for Property Taxes and Utility Bills. If you bank at the Bulkley Valley Credit Union, CIBC, or RBC, sign in to your online banking and add the Village of Burns Lake to your bill payments.

Also, to help alleviate the annual cost of utility bills, you can begin monthly utility bill payments online. While utility bills are due in the spring, there is no late penalty added to the bill until December 31st of the same year. At this time the bill is added to your property taxes. This year, when you receive your bill, divide the payments out between the remaining months of the year to make the payments more manageable. Next year, divide the payments throughout the entire year to make them even less of a burden.

Pay at the Village Office

Payment for all Municipal Services can be made in person at the Village Office located at #15, 3rd Avenue. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit, Cheque, and Cash. Cheques can be mailed to: Village of Burns Lake, PO Box 570, Burns Lake, BC V0J 1E0.
