  1. Introduction

The Village of Burns Lake is seeking a qualified individual to act as the Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator for Burns Lake. The successful candidate will become a key community contact for healthcare professionals and will work closely with Northern Health to support the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in the community. The Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator should be flexible, approachable, professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the community.

  1. Working Agreement

Before any work is completed, successful proponent(s) will be required to enter into a contract for services with the Village of Burns Lake.

The successful proponent will be retained as a contractor to provide services to the Village of Burns Lake, and will not be, in any capacity, an employee of the Village of Burns Lake.

  1. Qualifications and Experience:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Sound personal judgement, discretion and credibility
  • Proven ability to negotiate and make decisions independently
  • Experience with event planning and hosting
  • Knowledge of the Village of Burns Lake and the Lakes District
  • Must live locally

The contract will be awarded as soon as a qualified candidate is identified and will end twelve months from hire. The contract may be extended subject to funding availability.

The Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator will work from home and must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

The Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and will be under the direction of the Recruitment and Retention of Medical Professionals Committee.

Responsibilities of the Healthcare Recruitment Coordinator:

  • Provide community tours to healthcare professionals considering employment opportunities in Burns Lake
  • Assist new healthcare professionals and their families to settle in the community
  • Foster community partnerships which support healthcare recruitment and retention
  • Work with Northern Health to host welcome and networking events for physicians
  • Advocate for practicum and residency programs in Burns Lake and assist in making these experiences positive
  • Provide other types of assistance as needed to encourage recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in Burns Lake
