Ts’il Kaz Koh and Village of Burns Lake Sign Historic Agreement to Enhance Recreation Opportunities

Ts’il Kaz Koh and the Village of Burns Lake are excited to announce the signing of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to guide their collaboration on planning, funding, developing, and managing recreational infrastructure in the community.

This partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing the quality of life for residents in both communities. The joint effort aims to promote health and well-being, create accessible recreational opportunities, and ensure that future infrastructure reflects the cultural, social, and environmental values of the communities involved.

“We are thrilled to work together to build recreational spaces that benefit our residents and strengthen our communities,” said Chief Wes Sam of Ts’il Kaz Koh. “This agreement is a testament to our shared vision for a vibrant, connected future.”

Mayor Henry Wiebe echoed this sentiment, stating, “Investing in recreation helps foster community connections, supports local businesses, and makes our region an even better place to live, work, and play. We look forward to what we can achieve together.”

The MOU highlights the mutual commitment of Ts’il Kaz Koh and the Village of Burns Lake to creating sustainable, resilient communities through thoughtful recreational development.
