INTERIM HOUSING NEEDS REPORT
The Village of Burns Lake is updating its Housing Needs Report and encourages residents to share their input through an open survey until November 29th at 11:59 pm.
Housing Needs Reports help identify gaps in current housing, highlight barriers to finding and maintaining housing, and project future needs across the housing spectrum. The Village’s most recent report was completed in 2020.
In 2023, the Government of BC introduced new legislation aimed at increasing housing density and supply. This legislation requires local governments to update their Housing Needs Reports, with an Interim Report due by January 1, 2025, and a comprehensive report by December 31, 2028.
Your feedback is essential in helping us meet the January 1, 2025 deadline for the Interim Housing Needs Report.
